Work, Weight loss and WeightWatchers

I've had a great week, one where I've achieved a couple of things, namely a weight loss of 3.5lb and a completed pilot study which I submitted last night. I have worked hard this week and today was spent having lunch with a friend after seeing another friend to pray with. My WeightWatchers online is going well, much better than attending the meetings.

Quiet weekend ahead. Cell group in the morning then viewing a house in the afternoon then a family night in. Think we'll play Monopoly. Charlie is half way through his exams so trying to give him some space.

Week-end

Looking forward to the, hopefully, quiet and peaceful week-end ahead after such a busy few weeks. It will kick-off with our home group this morning. A new person is joining which I'm excited about.

It is a beautiful snowy day so we will go for a long walk after lunch and then I will need to work this afternoon and some of the evening. I have to write -up my pilot study before Wednesday and I haven't even analysed the data yet. We will watch a DVD tonight.

Tomorrow after church, another walk is planned and I am sooo looking forward to the return of Lark Rise to Candleford in the evening.

Charlie's mock GCSEs start on Monday so he should be busy revising this week-end. Harry has a party today and Rosie will want to meet up with a friend no doubt.

I am enjoying my current knitting projects and have posted photos of their progress. I am about a third of the way through the red scarf and plan to finish it for our trip to Switzerland next month. The cardigan is such a joy to knit. The wool is Rowan Colourscape Chunky and the colour is delightful. I finished the back last night.

More snow scenes

The cold weather is set to continue for at least a week. The country is struggling! Looking on a satellite map on the news yesterday, the whole of Great Britain was covered in a blanket of snow.

I've had a great week at home. Graham and I went for another long walk yesterday around the village which was good exercise.

Behind with my work, so I must catch up this week end

More snow

Apparently this country has seen the largest snowfall in 30 years over the last few days. It does look so beautiful. I am at home again and haven't been to work at all this week. Graham is also at home and I am looking forward to a long walk in the snow with him at lunchtime and then home made leek, ham and potato soup when we return. It is day three of WeightWatchers and I am doing well so far.

God is good and His love and faithfulness endure forever! A new year of bible readings. This is my third year of reading the bible in a year which I so enjoy. I pray that God will reveal new truths to me from His word and that I apply them to my life.

New Year, new diet.

Got a shock this morning! I bought some WeightWatcher scales which were half-price as we don't own any. I jumped on them and I am a stone more than what I had estimated, meaning that I have over two stones to lose! So, I joined WeightWatchers on line for three months and am back to point counting. I refuse the humiliation of attendance at WeightWatcher meetings so will have a go on my own. Day one has gone well. Graham was working at home so we went on a long walk around the village with Harry. Charlie went to school for a revision session and Rosie was playing hockey all day.

Tried to do some work and managed a few hours but now feel behind. The weather here is soooo cold ( - 3 degrees ) and snow is expected again tomorrow. If the weather is bad I will work at home tomorrow.

The children are back at school tomorrow.

New Year's Eve

Looking forward to celebrating the New Year with friends who are coming over from Cambridge today and are staying until tomorrow.

Listening to UCB radio and have been challenged by being asked to think about words to describe God, and to write them down, and to remember them when praying to our father in heaven. We too often get caught up with 'asking for' prayers and focusing on the gift and not the giver. God wants to give us good gifts but desires our worship and time with Him. No resolutions this year but my aim is to spend more time just being still in His presence and I am thankful that through Jesus Christ we can know Him.

Happy New Year to everybody and I pray that God will give you the desires of your heart during 2010.

End of the year

We've had a lovely Christmas and we took my mum back to the station to catch the train home yesterday afternoon. Church was great on Christmas Day, and my mum enjoyed the service. I spent most of the day in the kitchen preparing the meal. Graham's parents arrived just after we returned from outdoor mulled wine and mince pies at a neighbour's ( the one who lost her partner on Dec 27th last year). Two young friends from church came round early evening and it was nice to see them and exchange presents. I finally sat down in the evening to watch the Christmas special of Gavin and Stacey ( which I hadn't seen before, but enjoyed as I love Rob Brydon ) . I concluded that it is hard work being a woman on Christmas Day, but worth it to see all my family enjoy their presents and the Christmas dinner. I was given an ipod touch this year which is really cool. However, despite the lovely day I did feel that materialism is getting in the way and next year will be different. The children were really grateful for their presents though.

On Boxing Day we took my mum for a walk around the park which was good exercise for all of us and today Graham, Harry and I did three laps of the park which was invigorating.

Can't believe we are approaching the end of 2009 and the second year of my blog! I still haven't worked out how to print it out.
